Numeracy - This week we have been problem solving. Some of the problems we were solving were very difficult but everyone showed great 'stickability'. We have learnt that we need to read the questions properly to avoid making simple mistakes.
Literacy - We have been writing more poems this week. We have written poems using similes, metaphors and imagery. We wrote a whole class poem called Fantastic Facts which is at the bottom of the Blog. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed writing it.
Topic - this week we learnt how day and night happen and have created information pages about this. We have also started looking at motivating and the Learning Stances we use in school.
Our stopping and listening to instructions has been much much better this week.

Senora Tirivangano
Numeracy - this week we have done some more data handling and been getting to grips with mean, median, mode and range. We have also been estimating and measuring.
Literacy - We have started looking at poetry this week. We have read poems with examples of personification, similes and metaphors. We have written some of our own poems and written some poems in groups.
Topic - We started the week with our WOW! by setting off a rocket and eating astronaut food. This week we learnt about the Solar System and what it is made up of. We made factfiles about The Sun, completed a quiz about the planets and learnt the phases of the Moon.
Visitors - we have been very lucky this week to have a German student and a teacher from Mozambique working with us. We learnt some German and Portguese. Senora Tirivangano showed us some of the jewellery she made with the children in Mozambique and talked to us about Matacuane School.
