Luckwell v South Street

Luckwell v South Street
14th March

Luckwell played their second game in 2 days looking to keep the momentum going.

The pitch was very muddy but Luckwell passed the ball well from the start and clearly dominated from the off. The defence were cool and the midfield energetic while their defence was constantly troubled by our strikers.

As the pressure built it seed only a matter of time until the first goal came. Jack coolly finished after a good work throughout the team. The lead was doubled before half time when George took the ball past most of the South Street team and fired the ball past the keeper.

The second half carried on in much the same manner. Luckwell kept the ball and had a number of attacking phases of play. Our defence calmly subdued any pressure that an increasingly frustrated South Street had. Jack scored 2 more goals before he was injured in a tackle that led to him being injured and Luckwell were awarded their third penalty in 3 games. George stepped up and made no mistake this time. Despite pressure from Luckwell chances were never taken although there eas some fantastic play between Myles and Louis. George scored another well deserved goal before the final whistle.

The final score was Luckwell 6 South Street 0.

Lukwell v St Mary Redcliffe

Hopefully the sports blog will appear on the 'whats new' page soon!!!

Luckwell v St Mary Redcliffe
13th March

Luckwell played league leaders Redcliffe in a double header. Both teams knew that it was an important game and the Redcliffe players were very vocal about the fact they were going to win the league.

Luckwell began the game with an excellent attitude and immediately started to dominate the game. The midfield took control and soon started to create chances, but the Redcliffe keeper made a few timely saves.

After a bit of pressure the ball fell to Louis who calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net. The Luckwell defence were ready to defend but were never really threatened in the first half and Mo hardly touched the ball.
Ten minutes into the game George got the ball in his own half and slid a perfect pass up the pitch. Jack hit it first time doubled Luckwell’s lead. For the second game running Luckwell were awarded a penalty and for the second game running we missed it (we must change our penalty taker).

At half time Luckwell were leading 2-0 and readied themselves for considerable pressure as Redcliffe attempted to save the game. Fortunately the expected pressure never came and our defence hardly broke sweat. Jack scored his second of the game after a fantastic run and then George finally had a bit of luck. After seeing 2 tremendous shots and a penalty saved earlier in the game he then scored a hat-trick in less than 5 minutes.

Well done boys for a fantastic display from every player.
Thanks to Fred and Leigh for refereeing.

Final score
Luckwell 6
St Mary Redcliffe 0

Luckwell v Victoria Park

Luckwell v Victoria Park29th Febuary 2008Luckwell began their 2nd league game with a quick lead when Jack scored a goal 60 seconds into the game, Luckwell created a lot of chances and luckily Jack finished them and scored 2 more goalsMohammed and his defence controlled the Victoria Park attack letting no player get a shot on goal. A lovely through ball led to Jack scoring his 4th goal. Luckwell immediately forced another shot on goal and it deflected of the Victoria Park centre back sending the ball into the back of the Victoria Park goal. Jack scored another before the half time whistle blew with the score being Luckwell 6 Victoria Park 0The second half began with Victoria Park trying to fight back but with Luckwell still dominating the game despite the by now very heavy rain. The Luckwell goals kept on coming with Louis and George both finding the back of the net and joining Jack on the scoresheet. The defence held firm whenever Victoria Park tried to break away and we never looked like conceding a goal.

At the end of the match the final score was Luckwell 14 Victoria Park 0.

Thanks to all of our very wet supporters.

Man of the match was Jack for scoring 10 goals.
